Tide secondary features Of first day of spring

Spring is time for new beginnings, and, approximately at Alabama, some analysis.
Eventually into the Crimson Tide's spring clinic slate exposed Alabama's additional could promote some moving parts, at least pro tempore being First Day of Spring.

Among those moving parts Tuesday was undergraduate receiver Trevon Diggs, who began practice working with the additional during private practices.

Diggs, who is also expected to become crucial exclusive collaborators this entering year, also worked in the additional some last time prior to settling in at beneficiary.

" That's an experiment we wanted to look at," coach Nick Saban said after Tuesday's technique. "Look, it's two-fold-- A, we can see what he can do, and he can learn a position (to make sure that) if we had issues later on from a depth viewpoint, he would understand enough to go over and be an emergency player and play both ways if he was playing offense later on. This is the amount of time to sort of attempt to do that."

Also turning, though not nearly as extreme, was versatile junior Minkah Fitzpatrick, who prospered last period after moving from star to sturdy safety and security following the midseason personal injury of then-senior Eddie Jackson.

But with one of both starting corner spots open, Tide coaches slid Fitzpatrick better to the line of skirmish to begin springtime camp working opposite first-team cornerback Anthony Averett.
Still, given his ability to play all some secondary positions-- corner, safety and star-- Fitzpatrick's position is hardly settled someday into springtime.

" It's nice to have a guy like that if somebody came through as a starting corner he could play someplace else," Saban said. "If somebody came through as a great safety, then you could feel comfortable leaving him at corner. It's really unique to have a guy that's as smart as he is has a good understanding of the game that really can play all those positions."

Also working with the First day of autumn team secondary Tuesday was senior Tony Brown at nickel back and veterans Ronnie Harrison and Hootie Jones at safety.

Along with hinting that undergraduates early enrollees Daniel Wright, Xavier McKinney and Kyriq McDonald are each working at safety behind Harrison and Jones.
